DETUROPE (The Central European Journal of Regional Development and Tourism) is an international online peer-reviewed open-acces journal that exists since 2009. It offers a possibility for the international community of professionals working in the fields of regional and rural development or tourism to exchange their ideas and research results or practical achievements as it publishes results of both theoretical and applied research in these fields.

The main objective of the journal is to provide a forum for researchers of Central and Eastern European countries working in regional and rural development, or the development of tourism, to present their problems and success stories alike. Naturally, researchers of other regions interested in problems similar to those of the CEE countries are also welcome to use this medium and take part in the exchange of opinions and results. Besides researchers the journal welcomes communications from practitioners working in these fields and wishing to present their experiences and achievements.

The journal is published by consortium of three academic establishments: University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Faculty Of Economics, Czech Republic ; University of Pannonia Georgikon Faculty, Keszthely, Hungary and Regional Science Association of Subotica, Serbia.
The papers are published in English but could be also published in Czech, Hungarian or Serbian with an extended abstract in English.

DETUROPE is indexed in The European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS), in the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), MTMT (The Hungarian National Scientific Bibliography) and the KoBSON(Serbian Consortium for Coordinated Acquisition of Electronic Resources) databases.

Peer review process
All submitted manuscripts in the original scientific paper and professional paper section are subject to a double blind peer review process.
The editor in chief makes an initial judgement on the acceptability of the manuscript before sending it out to the two external reviewers (neither an editor, nor a member of the editorial board). On the basis of the reviews the editors make a decision whether to accept the manuscript, ask for a revision or reject it. Manuscripts in all other sections will be reviewed by the editor in chief. All accepted submissions will be copyedited. Prepared proofs will be sent back to the authors for a final correction.
